Cognitive Solutions’ C/Rx Provides Optimal Workflow, Cost,
and Performance for Your Pharmacy Printing Applications

The C/Rx printing solution offers pharmacies the ability to save time and costs associated with their prescription fulfillment process.

The C/Rx printer generates prescription labels fast and saves money on
energy and supplies.  The simple media path prevents label jams and ensures long-lasting performance.  Because the C/Rx is a thermal printer, no messy or expensive toner is required and it utilizes far less energy than a laser printer, a ratio of 10:1 energy consumption.

Barcodes

A barcode is the image which contains information which is read by a barcode reader (optical scanner). Cognitive Solutions C Series thermal barcode printers can print both 1D linear and 2D barcode images.  Using barcodes to store data has many benefits, but the largest benefit is improving the speed and accuracy when transferring data.  With exceptional printing quality, our barcode printers are compatible with a wide range of scanning solutions can be used with our C Series products.

Symbology: Refers to the type of mapping between the data message and the printed marking.  When speaking of barcodes, the ‘symbology’ is the named type of barcode.

  • 1-D Barcodes (Linear Barcodes): Linear barcodes store data within the line width, the spacing between the lines, and the combinations the lines are positioned.  The clarity and contrast of the line images is a direct indication of the barcode data scan ability and accuracy.  Cognitive Solutions thermal barcode printers have high quality standards to ensure barcode data is printed on media with the accuracy and scan ability in mind.
  • 2-D Barcodes: 2-D Barcodes offer a more broad symbology range in which the data is stored.  The most common 2D symbology utilized today is matrix codes, which features square or dot-shaped modules arranged on a grid pattern.  There are many 2-D symbologies other than matrix codes, such as those which have circular patterns, or those which utilize steganography by hiding an array of different sized or shaped modules within a user specified image.
